AdHunt reads each marketplace once a day, through an official API where there is one and otherwise from its public listing pages, following the site’s rules for automated visitors (robots.txt). Every result links back to the original listing, and photos load from the marketplace rather than being copied.

Good to know
- eBay: listings from sellers in Ireland, through eBay’s official API. eBay doesn’t say which town or county an item is in.
- Sellinn.ie: gives the county, but not the town or the date an ad was posted.
- iSold.ie: few ads have photos, and some give only a town.
- Adverts.ie: the newest ads in each category. Older ads are still being added.
- Vinted: mostly clothes, plus kids’, home and hobby items. Vinted doesn’t say where an item is, and AdHunt reads its newest items first, so older ones are still being added.
What about Facebook Marketplace?
We’d love to include it, but Facebook keeps Marketplace to itself: there’s no way for other sites to list its ads, and most of it sits behind a login. So for now, it’s one to check separately.
What’s left out
Vehicles and car parts, pets and animals, property and rentals, farming and services; ads without a stated price; and ads from outside the Republic of Ireland.
For marketplaces
If you run one of these marketplaces and would rather AdHunt didn’t include your listings, tell us and we’ll stop reading your site and remove its listings. To talk about how AdHunt uses your listings, or to ask for that, see Takedown requests.
